Who would have thought? Montse Cota, a graphic designer temporally hired in Nike Mexico is now leading the digital transformation for Asia Pacific and Latin America Marketplace at Nike World Headquarters.
My career at the Swoosh has been a wild ride full of experiences that keep fullfilling my curiosity and nurturing my adaptability throughout my 11 years at Nike. The wide variety of hats I get to wear have allowed me to innovate and see beyond the next corner.
A game changer back in 2011 was the creation of the very first ever digital product catalog. This transformed the Nike Mexico Go To Market strategy.
This also transformed my Nike journey. The fact that we went from hard printed copies to a digital and interactive catalog profoundly impacted the sell-in of Keep It Tight future products, the way cross-functional teams collaborated, and the optimization of seasonal budgets.
After this exciting innovation in the sales space, I was tapped to lead the execution of merchandising projects for the Mexican Football Clubs, such as the America FC 100th year anniversary which connected me with Geo Teams for the first time.
An opportunity of a lifetime came along: a seat at the table with Nike’s Mexico Leadership Team.
Becoming the Sr. Producer of Nike’s Mexico Leadership Team allowed me to listen and learn first hand from phenomenal leaders about Nike’s brand and business strategy. This position opened the doors for me to manage the entire sales process of Emerging Markets in 2017, collaborating closely with Geo cross-functional teams.
2019 was the year I joined the APLA Partner Go To Market Team at WHQ, where I led the digital and physical showroom experiences across all territories.
2020 swooshed in powerfully and this demanded a quick response.
This is when my career shifted 180 degrees and I needed to wear new lenses to question and reinvent everything I had created before. Currently, as the APLA Self-Service Capabilities Manager, I ensure that nike.net* becomes the full service digital destination for all, enabling and amplifying our Marketplace partnerships through new technology capabilities.
*nike.net is Nike’s B2B platform that currently enables $4.5B+ for APLA.
